Finsthwaite

Sunday, 9th July

Have just spent a delightful afternoon walking around the resevoirs at Finsthwaite, near Newby Bridge. It has rained most of the day so a walk was not looking too good. The trees kept most of it off us however and it really was very, very pretty and, I don't care if it's not true fellwalking, Mr. Wainwright, it is a really beautiful place and should be visited more often. I shall certainly make the effort to go again - the drive was not as bad as I thought it might be.
